Overview:

A video editor plays a critical role in shaping the final look, feel, and impact of visual content across various platforms and industries, because is responsible for assembling, editing, and manipulating raw footage into a cohesive and engaging video product.

This role is specifically in entertainment industry for a TV Show.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives, as well as extended hours during hurricanes and continuous coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Video editors need a strong grasp of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. They should be proficient in cutting, trimming, and arranging footage to tell a compelling story.
  • Often collaborate with directors and producers to understand the creative vision for a project. They must have a keen eye for visual storytelling, pacing, and continuity.
  • Beyond editing software, editors should be familiar with other tools and technologies related to video production, such as color grading, sound editing, special effects, and motion graphics.
  • Managing media assets, labeling clips, and maintaining a structured project workflow are essential for efficiency and collaboration within a team.
  • Meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously requires strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Video editing often involves troubleshooting technical issues, finding creative solutions, and making quick decisions to overcome challenges during the editing process.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Journalism/Communication or a related field.
  • Communication skills are crucial, as they often work closely with editors, producers, and other team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entertainment industry, celebrities and current trends.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
